Abstract
Measurements of the nonlinear transverse magnetic moment have been carried out on disk-shaped samples of YBCO, using an ac technique. Numerical calcul ations for a d(x2-y2) pairing state predict a fourfold modulation of this m oment as a function of the angle between the applied magnetic and the cryst alline axes for a magnetic field applied in the a-b plane of the sample. Ou r results imply a minimum nonzero gap at all points on the Fermi surface.
