W. Fujimoto et al., Anti-epiligrin cicatricial pemphigoid with IgG autoantibodies to the beta and gamma subunits of laminin 5, J AM ACAD D, 40(4), 1999, pp. 637-639
Anti-epiligrin cicatricial pemphigoid is an autoimmune subepithelial bliste
ring disorder of mucous membranes and skin. By immunoblot analyses, sera of
most patients with anti-epiligrin cicatricial pemphigoid have been shown t
o react specifically with the alpha 3 chain of laminin 5, We describe the f
irst patient with anti-epiligrin cicatricial pemphigoid in whom circulating
Ige autoantibodies directed against the beta 3 and gamma 2-chains of lamin
in 5 were detected. Treatment with oral prednisolone was beneficial in cont
rolling the disease.
