Mf. Gavinet et al., CONGENITAL TOXOPLASMOSIS DUE TO MATERNAL REINFECTION DURING PREGNANCY, Journal of clinical microbiology, 35(5), 1997, pp. 1276-1277
A case of congenital toxoplasmic chorioretinitis was diagnosed (specif
ic-immunoglobulin G [IgG] and -IgM comparative Western blot analysis)
in a baby whose mother was immune during pregnancy. Maternal sera show
ed an increase in specific IgG and emergence of both IgM and IgA durin
g pregnancy. The mother was probably reinfected through contact with k
ittens.
