Abstract
The quality of the metal of rotor turbines and generators is one of the mai n factors determining their reliability and service life. It is important n ot only to choose correctly the grade of the steel but also the process of its production. The results of a study of two kinds of defect observed in l arge forgings and their effect on the steel quality are presented.
