Abstract
We report a case of successful percutaneous transcatheter arterial embolisa tion of a renal artery aneurysm with interlocking detachable coils (IDCs). A 69 year old female patient presented to our hospital with gross haematuri a. Contrast-enhanced CT showed a solitary large aneurysm in the right arter y Super-selective catheterisation was performed using a microcatheter. The aneurysm was safely and successfully embolised with eight interlocking deta chable coils. At 1 year follow-up with colour Doppler ultrasound (US), the arterial lumen was normally maintained and no aneurysm was depicted. Super- selective embolisation with IDCs is a safe and alternative treatment in pat ients with a venal artery aneurysm. After embolisation, colour Doppler US i s a valuable noninvasive technique for monitoring the lesion.
