Abstract
Crystals of (NH3OH)(2)TiF6. 2H(2)O have been isolated. The compound crystal lizes in the monoclinic system (P2(1)/c, No. 15) with cell parameters of a= 6.203(1) Angstrom, b=10.057(1) Angstrom, c = 7.464(1) Angstrom, and beta = 110.653(6)degrees. Reactions in the system In (OH)(3) - NH3OHF - HF have be en investigated. Crystals of (NH3OH)(3)InF6 were isolated from aqueous solu tion. The compound crystallizes in the trigonal system (R3c) with a = b = c = 7.764(2) Angstrom, alpha = beta = gamma = 97.21(4)degrees. The thermal d ecomposition of both compounds was studied by TG and DSC analysis; the deco mposition products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction.
