Abstract
We have investigated the unusual magnetic behavior in CeNi1-xCoxSn with x = 0.35 by Co-59 and Sn-119 NMR. The coexistence of two NMR lines (for both S n-119 and Co-59) in, the vicinity of transition temperature is in agreement with first-order nature of the phase transition. The sharp increase of ele ctric field gradient at the Co site agrees well with the behaviour of latti ce parameters and with a change of the Ce valence state at the transition.
