The current-voltage characteristics (CVC) for nonstationary Josephson I-1,
interference I-2, and quasiparticle J currents through tunnel junctions inv
olving partially dielectrized superconductors with charge-density waves wer
e calculated. The CVC peculiarities depend on combinations of superconducti
ng, Delta, and dielectric, Sigma, order parameters for both electrodes. Sym
metrical (s) and nonsymmetrical (ns) junctions, when one of the electrodes
is an ordinary (BCS) superconductor, are considered in detail. The current
J(ns) depends on the voltage polarity, which is not inherent to the ns-junc
tions involving only BCS superconductors. In the s-case, both symmetrical a
nd nonsymmetrical CVC for J(s) are possibly depending on the Sigma equality
(including their signs) for electrodes. The theory describes the propertie
s of NbSe3 and high-T-c, oxides. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights
