Abstract
We have performed magnetic susceptibility measurements on CuGe1-xSixO3 and Cu1-yMyGeO3 (with M = Zn, Mg, Ni) single crystals for a large number of con centrations. This study allowed us to determine an universal (T(x, y)) phas e diagram with a sealing factor y approximate to 3x. We have also studied t he coexistence of the AF and SP phases in Si-doped CuGeO3 compounds by neut ron diffraction: As the silicon concentration increases, the long-range ord ered antiferromagnetic phase over takes the spin-Peierls order, which becom es short-range ordered.
