The effect of a weak random potential on two-leg Hubbard ladders is investi
gated. The random potential is shown to induce Anderson localization except
for attractive enough interactions, suppressing completely d-wave supercon
ductivity. These localization effects remain very strong even for many ladd
ers coupled by Josephson coupling. Both DC and AC conductivities and locali
zation lengths are obtained. Consequences for the superconducting ladder co
mpound SrxCa14-xCu24O41+delta are discussed. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
