Abstract
We present high resolution photoemission (PES) measurements on several Yb c ompounds in the IV and Kondo regime. It is found that the linewidths, bindi ng energies and spectral weight distributions of the 4f spectra show a dire ct correlation to the characteristic temperature T-max of the maximum in th e magnetic susceptibility chi(T). The observed scaling behaviour is discuss ed in the framework of the Single Anderson Impurity model (SIAM). (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
