Abstract
Incubation of the tumor cells including Lewis lung carcinoma (LLC), me lanoma B-16, adenocarcinoma 755 and Ehrlich-Lettre ascite carcinoma wi th rabbit antiserum (AS) against human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) at 37 degrees C for 15-120 min substantially inhibited their tumorigenic potential and metastatic ability (LLC and melanoma B-16 cells) in C57 Bl/6 mice. The effect of incubation was time-dependent in the range fr om partial to complete inhibition of the development of tumor and meta stases. Incubation of tumor cells with AS against beta-hCG also inhibi ted their tumorigenicity, though less significantly compared with AS a gainst hCG. Washing of preincubated tumor cells restored their ability to form tumor and metastases in vivo.
