Abstract
Spin-resolved photoelectron and Auger spectra were measured near the maximu m of the Xe 4d photoionization at 93.8 eV. The results were used to derive a complete set of relativistic dipole matrix elements and their relative ph ases. These transition amplitudes are compared with theoretical calculation s and a semiempirical approach utilizing a critical survey of the present e xperimental photoionization data. This analysis shows that this prominent p hotoionization process may be well described within a 4-parameter model.
