The static and dynamic properties of large polarons on conjugated chai
ns have been calculated under high electric fields. We have found that
the nonlinear self-trapping energy is not changed significantly, even
at fields which confer to the polaron a potential energy larger than
the formation energy in the absence of fields. However, the drift mobi
lity of the polarons in an assembly of disordered conjugated segments
is increased by several orders of magnitude.
