KINETICS OF THE FORMATION OF CHEMICAL-BON DS BETWEEN THE PHASES FORMED DURING THE CURE OF REACTIVE OLIGOMERS

Principles for controlling the interfacial interaction in heterophase polymers prepared as a result of phase separation in a multicomponent polymer blend caused by curing. The applicability of these principles was verified for two systems: diepoxide + diamine + poly(propylene gly co)bis(tolylenediurethane ethylene-acrylate) and diepoxide + tertiary amine + butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer end-capped with carboxyl gro ups. Analysis of the kinetics and the mechanism of these reactions all ow inferences to be made about the conditions when the interfacial int eraction between the phases would be controlled by the chemical bondin g between them.
