Measurement of plasma D-lactates and interval of frequent values in calves.

The concentration of D-lactates has been measured in plasmas (fluorureoxala tes) from 50 healthy 2 to 21-day old calves by an enzymatic technique. Resu lts were distributed according to a log-normal law with a median of 0.19 mm ol/l, a minimum of 0.04 mmol/l and a maximum of 0.59 mmol/l. No effect of a ge or sex has been observed. Parametric and non parametric estimation of th e 0.975 quantile, as upper limit of the interval of frequent values, was th e same : 0.45 mmol/l.
