Cage organometallosiloxanes were synthesized according to a new procedure u
sing monomeric organoalkoxysilanes as the starting compounds. The latter we
re subjected to hydrolysis immediately before the exchange reaction of sodi
um silanolate with metal halides. Difficultly accessible metallovinylsiloxa
nes, metallomethylsiloxanes, and metallosiloxanes containing a functional g
roup in the organic radical at the silicon atom can be readily prepared acc
ording to the method proposed.
