Abstract
Electroencephalograph data of normal individuals viith their eyes clos ed is analyzed and modeled. The characteristics of the observed time s eries correspond to a filtered Gaussian random noise model modified wi th a suitable falloff in the power spectrum. An artificial neural, net work model produces an excellent fit to the relatively short time seri es data without any hidden neurons, implying that the underlying syste m is predominantly deterministic and linear.
