Abstract
Investigations of wear in sliding friction of WC-Hadfield steel hard a lloy against cast tool steel have been carried out in a broad range of velocities and pressure values, Structural and phase composition vari ations have been revealed, Friction-affected zone was found to be 450 mu m in depth. Structural gamma --> alpha, gamma --> epsilon transform ation regions are located within 100 mu m of the surface, These transf ormations contributed to the total solid solution deformation hardenin g.
