Abstract
The current state of transportation policy within the UK is reviewed. In the spirit of Local Agenda 21's empowering local communities as wel l as by thinking globally and acting locally, a case study for the Rhy mney Valley, South Wales is presented. This analyses the region's curr ent policies which influence transportation and suggestions are made f or future improvements. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
