CHROMATOGRAPHY OF MICROCYSTINS

This review deals with the analytical and preparative chromatography o f microcystins and nodularins, cyclic peptide liver toxins and tumor p romoters from cyanobacteria. The chemistry of the toxins, extraction f rom various matrices, separation on different stationary phases, and d etection of intact and derivatized toxins are considered. An introduct ion to other chemical and biological methods for microcystin analysis is also presented. Finally, a list of selected starting paints for ana lysis set-up is given.
