Amorphous platinum uridine green sulfate was studied using anomalous w
ide-angle X-ray scattering and X-ray absorption techniques. Experiment
s were made with synchrotron radiation in the vicinity of the Pt L-III
absorption edge. The experimental results agree with a mixture model
where the major components are mono-and dinuclear Pt complexes. The in
tramolecular Pt-Pt distance of 3 Angstrom and the shortest intermolecu
lar Pt-PI distances of 5.1 and 7.3 Angstrom were determined from the a
pproximative regularized Pt-Pt partial, radial distribution function.
The shortest average Pt-O and Pt-N distance of 2.03 Angstrom was obtai
ned from the EXAFS data.
