Abstract
Extensive dystrophic calcinosis cutis of the hips and anterolateral th ighs in a woman with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus is described, Clinical, histologic, and radiographic data are provided to familiari ze the reader with this unique and newly described condition. We specu late that repetitive, chronic, needle trauma in susceptible persons ca n induce massive dystrophic calcinosis cutis.
