Abstract
Recent advances in the syntheses of enantiopure synthetic building blo cks useful for non-protein amino acids, dipeptides, oligopeptides usin g solid state peptide synthesis, isoserines (norstatines), dipeptide i sosteres [hydroxy(keto)ethylene, hydroxyethylamine, hydroxyethylene an d dihydroxyethylene isosteres], taxoids, polyamines, poly(amino alcoho l)s and poly(amino ether)s, and other biologically active compounds th rough applications of the beta-lactam synthon method is reviewed.
