Abstract
Infrared spectra of isotopically diluted and pure ethanol crystals at temperatures down to 18 K are reported. A structure in the stretching (v(1)) and out-of-plane bending (v(4)) bands of isotopically diluted O H-and OD-groups has been found. The results confirm the structural dat a about the existence of two independent sets of hydrogen bonds in col d ethanol crystals, yield their quantitative relationship (1:2) and in dicate the existence of previously unobserved structural rearrangement in the temperature range 60-80 K.
