Tw. Gorczyca et al., ADAPTATION OF ASYMPTOTIC CLOSE-COUPLING METHODS TO MASSIVELY-PARALLELCOMPUTERS, Computer physics communications, 88(2-3), 1995, pp. 211-216
A standard asymptotic close-coupling method based on a perturbation te
chnique is adapted for use on massively parallel computers. The calcul
ation of K-matrices and cross-sections is partitioned over the process
ors according to incident electron energy. Use of external disk during
the calculation is eliminated. Linear scaling with the number of proc
essors is achieved for a 128-node Intel iPSC/860 and a small farm of S
un Spare 10 workstations.
