Ak. Walduck et Jp. Opdebeeck, EFFECT OF THE PROFILE OF ANTIGEN DELIVERY ON ANTIBODY-RESPONSES IN MICE, Journal of controlled release, 43(1), 1997, pp. 75-80
The effect of antigen delivery profiles on antibody responses were stu
died by administering bovine serum albumin (BSA) to mice in various de
livery profiles; continuously from mini-osmotic pumps, by injection or
combinations of pumps and injections. The level and relative avidity
of antibody responses were monitored for up to 40 weeks by ELISA. Cont
inuous delivery of BSA stimulated equivalent levels of antibody to del
ivery by injections over the same time periods (4, 8 or 12 weeks). Adm
inistration of part of the antigen dose as an injection either before
or after continuous delivery increased antibody levels for only a tran
sient period compared to other treatments. The time period between inj
ections of BSA significantly affected the levels of antibody induced.
