The energy of the ordered state of the rare-earth subsystem of CsDy(Mo
O4)(2) is calculated in the pure dipole approximation, and the magneti
c configuration corresponding to the ground state is determined. The t
emperature dependence of the magnetic heat capacity is calculated in t
he temperature range T>T-N, and a good agreement with the experiment i
s observed. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics. [S1063-777X(97)007
