Coating both sides of histologic slides with poly-L-lysine (PLL) by th
e conventional immersion technique is relatively costly and time-consu
ming. We have devised and successfully employed a new method in which
only the face side of the histologic slide is sprayed with PLL. We hav
e compared the quality, reproducibility, and time and costs incurred o
f our method with those of conventional techniques. Spray-coating of o
nly 1 side of histologic slides with PLL is simple, and economical and
renders as good quality as the expensive and time-consuming conventio
nal methods.
