Abstract
This review covers the physiology of thermal injury and pathophysiolog y of burn wounds in terms of burn wound healing, wound infection, and strategies for controlling and preventing infection. Emerging trends r elevant to wounds, such as the development of novel extrudable gel-for ming bioabsorbable liquids, and tissue engineering are briefly discuss ed.
