R. Milacic et al., DETERMINATION OF PLATINUM IN TUMOR-TISSUES AFTER CISPLATIN THERAPY BYELECTROTHERMAL ATOMIC-ABSORPTION SPECTROMETRY, Journal of pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis, 16(2), 1997, pp. 343-348
A simple procedure is described for the determination of platinum in t
umours after cisplatin therapy. Tumours were digested in 65% nitric ac
id by incubation at 37 degrees C: for 2 days and platinum analysed und
er optimum conditions by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry
with Zeeman background correction. The reproducibility of measurement
s in general was better than +/- 2%. The calibration graph nias linear
from 30.0 up to 1000 mu g l(-1) of platinum, while the limit of detec
tion (3 sigma) was found to be 3.0 mu g l(-1) (sample volume 20 mu). A
queous standard solutions and the standard addition method were applie
d ic, the calibration procedure. Under the recommended analytical cond
itions, the sample matrix did not influence the determination of plati
num significantly. In 72% of samples analysed the differences between
results obtained by the two calibration procedures did not exceed +/-
5%. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
