Abstract
The application of biologically derived catalysts to the synthesis of pharmaceuticals has grown rapidly in recent years, This review covers examples of isolated enzymes and microorganisms used as catalysts for the synthesis of pharmacologically valuable materials, on both a labor atory and a commercial scale.
