The correlation spectrum of fully developed one-dimensional mappings i
s studied near and at a weakly intermittent situation. Using a suitabl
e infinite-matrix representation, the eigenvalue equation of the Frobe
nius-Perron operator is approximately reduced to the radial Schrodinge
r equation of the hydrogen atom. Corrections are calculated by quantum
mechanical perturbation theory. Analytical expressions for the spectr
al properties and correlation functions are derived and checked numeri
cally. Compared to our previous work, the accuracy of the present resu
lts is significantly higher owing to the controlled and systematic app
roximation scheme.
