Abstract
Ethylene and styrene derivatives reacted with various propargylic ethe rs in the presence of zirconocene(Ii) to afford allenic products in hi gh yields. The reaction proceeded via formation of zirconacyclopentene s by selective coupling of an olefin and a propargylic ether, which wa s followed by beta-elimination of the siloxy group. Deuterolysis confi rmed that the final product had a zirconium-carbon bond. (C) 1997 Else vier Science Ltd.
