Cy. Chen et al., LOWER GASTROINTESTINAL-BLEEDING FROM A HEPATOCELLULAR-CARCINOMA INVADING THE COLON, Journal of clinical gastroenterology, 25(1), 1997, pp. 373-375
Bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract due to hepatocellular carcino
ma invasion is unusual. We describe a 71-year-old man who had bloody s
tools caused by a hepatocellular carcinoma that directly invaded the t
ransverse colon. The diagnosis was confirmed by colonoscopy and tissue
examination. Our patient is the first with lower gastrointestinal ble
eding from a hepatocellular carcinoma during the natural course of the
tumor.
