Abstract
Uni-directionally coupled continuous dynamical systems are investigate d that are synchronized using discretely sampled coupling signals. Thi s so-called sporadic driving is used to synchronize hyperchaotic array s of coupled oscillators and to estimate model parameters from time se ries. Furthermore, we give examples of generalized synchronization and phase synchronization due to sporadic driving.
