The complexes of Mn(II), Fe(II) and Zn(II) with N-phenyl,N'-(2-thiazol
yl)thiourea and N-phenyl, N'-(2-primidyl)thiourea have been described.
The complexes were found to have the formulas [Mn(L)(2)Cl-2], [Fe(L)(
2)SO4]. 2H(2)O and [Zn(L)2]SO4 . 3H(2)O, where M = Mn-II or Fe-II and
L = thiourea derivative. Characterization of the complexes has been ac
complished by elemental analysis, electronic and IR spectra, conductiv
ity measurements as well as thermal analysis. The thiourea derivatives
used were found to act as neutral bidentate ligands, and the complexe
s assume a distorted octahedral or tetrahedral stereochemical configur
ation.
