La. Ferreira et al., DEMODULATION OF 2 TIME-MULTIPLEXED FIBER BRAGG SENSORS USING SOURCE SPECTRAL CHARACTERISTICS, Pure and applied optics, 6(6), 1997, pp. 717-726
A passive all-fibre technique for fibre Bragg grating wavelength shift
detection which has been discussed previously is used here for the de
modulation of two Bragg sensors placed in a tree topology and addresse
d in time. The scheme involves a light source with a particular spectr
al profile that allows the direct tracking of the Bragg wavelength shi
fts, providing satisfactory resolution over a large dynamic range and
a direct application in demultiplexing fibre sensing systems. Experime
ntal results are presented relative to the measurement of static and d
ynamic strain, as well as temperature.
