Abstract
The active non-glycosylated glucoamylase, overexpressed from the Sacch aromycopsis fibuligera GLU1 gene in Escherichia coil BL21(DE3), has be en purified from the solubilized inclusion bodies and then renatured i n vitro. Crystals of the recombinant glucoamylase were obtained by vap our diffusion using PEG as precipitant. The crystals belong to the ort horhombic space group P2(1)2(1)2(1), with unit-cell dimensions of a = 58.1, b = 87.8 and c = 99.9 Angstrom, and diffract to 1.7 Angstrom res olution. This is the first report of the crystallization of the full-l ength glucoamylase corresponding to the mature enzyme.
