Abstract
The authors describe a clinical study about the assessment of the effe cts of lateral corrective trimming in 15 selected horses suffering fro m a non radiological lameness located in the digital extremities. All these horses presented an overlength in the lateral part of the hoof a nd would require a lateral corrective trimming. The clinical determina tion of the lameness grade, the estimation of interphalangeal articula r pinching and the measurements of four angles on radiographs were per formed before and after corrective trimming. A significant variation o f three of these angles, a reduction of articular pinching and a marke d decrease of lameness evaluated 6 weeks later were observed.
