The purpose of this study was to determine the effects that HIV/AIDS e
ducation had on the anxiety levels of 81 rehabilitation workers. Parti
cipants were given the State Trait Anxiety Inventory before the educat
ional intervention and immediately following the presentation. The mea
ns were compared using a dependent t-Test. Findings supported the hypo
thesis that no change would be seen in the pre-and post-test measures
of trait anxiety. The research did not support the hypothesis that sta
te anxiety would be reduced immediately following the educational pres
entation. Low pre-test scores of state anxiety may have contributed to
the lack of significant difference on the post-test. Recommendations
for future research have been discussed including the study of the anx
iety levels of new entrants into the rehabilitation employment setting
and students in rehabilitation undergraduate and graduate programs.
