Ta. Galyutina et Va. Kozlov, FIBER MICROLENSES FOR HIGH-EFFICIENCY RADIATION INPUT FROM LASER-DIODES, Journal of optical technology, 64(11), 1997, pp. 1051-1054
Methods have been developed for fabricating and testing microlenses on
the ends of fiber lightguides by a grinding/polishing method. The eff
ect of the parameters of the resulting microlenses on the radiation-in
put efficiency of laser diodes has been studied. A radiation input eff
iciency of laser diodes into fiber lightguides of up to 93% has been o
btained without antireflection coating the ends. (C) 1997 The Optical
