Abstract
This paper describes a promising method for fabricating conical articl es and a device for implementing it on a Model ShP optical machine. A mathematical model of the geometrical and kinematic relationships invo lved in processing articles on the proposed technological equipment is explained. Results of numerical and experimental studies of the regul arities of the shaping of conical surfaces by the circular-finishing m ethod are presented. (C) 1997 The Optical Society of America.
