Abstract
Let beta be a nest in a separably acting factor M. We present conditio ns for a factor M to be a bimodule of the nest subalgebra alg beta in M which is singly generated in the norm topology. Some relevant result s about the compact ideal I-c, the quasitriangular algebra and the Cal kin algebra are established.
