Abstract
Goddard Space Flight Center has developed the practice of measuring fa r ultraviolet (FUV) transmission of optical systems, and components, i n a gaseous nitrogen environment, and applied the technique to tests o f several flight optical systems. This practice is a flexible, cheap, safe, and reliable alternative to equivalent testing in vacuum chamber s.
