La. Beketaeva et al., EFFECT OF ADSORPTION OF AMMONIUM PERFLUOROSULFONATE SALTS ON THE ELECTROCHEMICAL-BEHAVIOR OF LEAD, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 33(11), 1997, pp. 1242-1245
The effect of fluorine-containing surface-active substances (FSAS) on
the electrochemical behavior of lead in sulfuric acid is discussed. Th
e adsorption of cationic FSAS is shown to be strengthened with the inc
reasing cathodic polarization of lead. The introduction of FSAS into t
he electrolyte gives rise to an increase both in the overpotential of
cathodic hydrogen evolution and in the discharge capacitance of the ne
gative electrode of a lead battery, the increase being strengthened as
the temperature decreases.
