Abstract
The relation between yield and fertilizer supply is frequently describ ed by a Linear Response and Plateau (LRP-)Model. This model divides al l data into two classes, The first class contains yield data depending directly on the fertilizer supply. The yield data in the second class are independent on the nitrogen supply. The LRP-Model is very useful, because the border between the two classes Is unambiguous. The descri bed algorithm optimizes the parameters for both parts of the LRP-Model simultaneously. The calculated parameters correspond to the parameter s of a linear regression function (Intercept with Y-axis, slope). Beca use this model was embedded in a Microsoft-Excel-Spreadsheet it is pos sible to manage data without problems.
