An eight-coordinate complex, TiCl4[C2H4(PMe2)(2)](2) (1), has been pre
pared and crystallographically characterized. A distorted arrange ment
of four chlorine and four phosphorus atoms has been found far the Ti-
IV center with the following bond lengths: Ti-Cl, 2.446(1) and 2.451(1
) Angstrom, and Ti-P, 2.648(1) and 2.654(1) Angstrom. (C) 1998 Elsevie
