Abstract
Large features in Raman spectra of partially deuterated arsenate, Tl(D xH(1-x))(2)AsO4 were used as test of phase transitions. The T (K) vers us x phase diagram is not progressive with the D-ratio. Intermediate x values, 0.3-0.7, lead to a succession of three phase transitions, con trary to the pure isotope compounds. That behaviour is attributed to t he very, weak dynamical participation of Tl+ cation and then primarily to geometric isotope effects. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
