Dk. Chakrabarty et al., FLUCTUATION IN OZONE COLUMN OVER AHMEDABAD DURING THE SOLAR ECLIPSE OF 24 OCTOBER 1995, Geophysical research letters, 24(23), 1997, pp. 3001-3003
A solar eclipse occurred over Ahmedabad,India (23 degrees N, 72 degree
s E) on 24 October 1995. Wt: measured the vertical column abundance of
ozone during this event using a Dobson spectrophotometer. We found th
at a sharp fall in the ozone column began from its normal value simila
r to 15 minutes before the maximum obscuration (MO) of the sun, follow
ed by a sharp rise similar to 10 minutes after the MO. About 15 minute
s after the MO, ozone column returned to normal values, but a wavelike
fluctuation was still seen.
